Notices to Mariners (Efs)

The Etterretninger for sjøfarende (Efs) is published twice a month, and provides information on changes or defects in aids to navigation, discovery of new dangers and on shortcomings in Norwegian charts or publications, navigational warnings, gunnery exercises or other information of interest to mariners. In addition to temporary (T) and preliminary (P) notices in Norwegian waters.

Gunnery Exercises, Warnings and Miscellaneous Notices

Miscellaneous notices, warnings and gunnery exercises are published in the pdf edition of Efs  every 14 days. For vessels subject to registration, the Norwegian Hydrographic Service recommend that mariners read these notices.

Gunnery exercises, warnings and miscellaneous notices will not appear in the search function "find notices to mariners" within the web-site.

Rig List Download the rig list as a pdf and in KLM format

The table quantities shows positions for mobile units in the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea north of 55° N and east of 05° W. During moves/relocation all the rig's height are approximately 120 meters above the sea surface.

Guidance

Contribution of Nautical Information

Corrections and changes in Norwegian nautical charts should be reported to the Efs, for example establishment and adjustments of installations at sea.

Nautical publications by the Norwegian Hydrographic Service, comprises: Notices to Mariners (Efs), Tide Tables for the Norwegian Coast and Svalbard, the Norwegian pilot guide (sailing directions) Den norske los, and Symbols and Abbreviations on Norwegian Maritime Charts.
